My Cousin voluntarily opted to enter a treatment center. Her job, a Government agency, paid for her to go and handled all of the arrangements with the facility. She lives in New Jersey, but the facility her job sent her to was Banyan Treatment Center in Stuart Florida. Once she arrived in Florida, she was picked up by Banyan Transport. Once at the facility, there was an issue with her insurance. They then wanted her to pay unexpectedly out of pocket. She disagreed and wanted to contact her job for clarification, but it was already after business hours. Instead of the facility being hospitable and dealing with the insurance issue in the morning, they kicked her off the premises in a place that was completely foreign to her, with no place to go and nobody to call. What's worse, they still had her luggage as well as her cell phone and refused to give it to her. They told her to go out on the streets for the night, comeback in the morning, (which she did), only for them to trespass her. This is how problems get "resolved" in a police state.
This could happen to someone you love, all for trying to get help. She is currently awaiting trial this month (Nov - 2023).
