Backpacking along the Dales Way. Day One of my thru hike, walking from Ilkley to Kettlewell where I set up my first camp. After a frosty start the weather was glorious and so were the views. Walking along this stretch to Grassmere was mostly nice and flat following the river Wharfe. After leaving Grassmere it was up and over the hills to a sunny Kettlewell.
