Three undocumented foreign nationals were arrested today during a
National Consumer Commission crackdown on non-compliant spaza shops in Soweto.

The operation, which forms part of a wider national blitz, was
prompted by the tragic deaths of six children, who allegedly consumed
contaminated snacks purchased from one of the spaza shops last week.

The sixth child, who was fighting for his life in hospital, passed
away yesterday.
