মা হতে চান রোবট সোফিয়া। তবে এই ইচ্ছে পূরণে বাধা হয়ে দাঁড়িয়েছে ছোট্ট একটি সমস্যা। সেটি নিয়েও কথা বলেছে এই রোবট।

সোফিয়া আদতে এক হিউম্যানয়েড। দেখতে অবিকল মানুষের মতো। তাকে তৈরি করেছে হংকং ভিত্তিক কোম্পানি হ্যানসন রোবটিকস। অবশ্য এতে বড় ধরনের সাহায্য করেছে হিরিশো ইশিগিরো ল্যাবরেটরিজ। প্রকৌশলী ও ডিজাইনারদের নেতৃত্বে ছিলেন ড. ডেভিড হ্যানসন।

সোফিয়ার চেহারা বানানো হয়েছে বিখ্যাত অভিনেত্রী অদ্রে হেপবার্ন ও হ্যানসনের স্ত্রীর চেহারা মাথায় রেখে। ২০১৫ সালের এপ্রিলে প্রথম সচল হয় সোফিয়া। তাঁর কপালের হাড় উঁচু। চোখ অভিব্যক্তিময়। ব্যবসায়িক বুদ্ধিও আছে তার। ব্যাংকিং, গাড়ি নির্মাতাদের পরামর্শ দিয়ে রেকর্ড গড়েছে। লোকে বলে

সোফিয়ার বেশ বুদ্ধি। ২০১৭ সালের ১১ অক্টোবর সোফিয়া জাতিসংঘের ডেপুটি সেক্রেটারি জেনারেল আমিনা জে. মোহাম্মেদের সঙ্গে এক ছোট্ট আড্ডায় বসেছিল।

সোফিয়ার গায়ের ত্বক মানুষের চামড়ার মতোই। বানানো হয়েছে সিলিকন দিয়ে। রোবট হলেও মুখে ৬২ ধরনের অভিব্যক্তি ফোটাতে পারে। মানুষের মতোই ভ্রু কুঁচকাতে পারে। মানুষের মতো দেখতে দাঁত ব্যবহার করে রাগও প্রকাশ করতে পারে। তার চোখে থাকা ক্যামেরায় সে সব দেখে। একজন থেকে আরেকজনকে আলাদা করতে পারে। আর কথা বলতে পারে চোখে চোখ রেখে। আপাতত ওর ভেতর পুরে দেওয়া কৃত্রিম বুদ্ধিমত্তা এখনো সিনেমার রোবটদের মতো হয়ে উঠেনি। তবে নির্দিষ্ট কিছু বিষয়ে মানুষের সঙ্গে কথা চালিয়ে যেতে জুড়ি নেই সোফিয়ার।
