Welcome back to Antarctica! This is our second day cruising the South Shetland Islands aboard the Norwegian Star. Today, we explore Elephant Island, made famous by the explorer Ernest Shackleton and his crew, who called this inhospitable rock home for 4 months whilst waiting to be rescued! We get a real taste of what conditions would have been like for Shackleton and his men as they tried to make land amidst towering cliffs and inaccessible glaciers, whilst battling storm winds and huge waves!
