The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday stated that Odisha is expected to experience heavy rainfall in most areas across 20 districts over the coming days due to a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal.
The weather office has predicted intense rainfall ranging from 7 to 11 cm, along with thunderstorms and lightning in isolated parts of these 20 districts on Wednesday. "A low-pressure area has developed over the west-central Bay of Bengal, near the northern coastlines of Andhra Pradesh and southern Odisha, due to a cyclonic circulation over the central Bay of Bengal," the IMD mentioned in its bulletin.
According to a report by Motilal Oswal Asset Management Company (AMC), the BSE TECk index has delivered impressive returns of 25.3% in the first eight months of 2024. The index has maintained strong growth, outpacing major indices such as the Nifty 50, which recorded 13.03% returns, and the Nifty 500, which achieved 17.18% returns in the same timeframe.
