On September 15, 2024, L90 Ballena was seen with a brand-new calf. The calf was given the alphanumeric ID of L128, and was determined to have been born September 14, making it about a day old.

We spent the afternoon into the evening observing L90 and L128 as they traveled up and down the west side of San Juan Island, passed Lime Kiln State Park where this footage was taken.
