Story:

Sparkfire grew up in Dreamclan alongside his best friend, Swiftstar. From kits to warriors they were completely inseperable. Everybody knew Swiftmask would become leader someday, and it was obvious Sparkfire would be chosen as his deputy, his right hand man.

Nobody expected that after the death of Greenstar, Swiftstar instead chose a warrior called Grayeyes to be his deputy. Sparkfire was bitter over this but continued to support his friend and was given an apprentice called Beepaw.

Sparkfire did the best he could training Beepaw, but he was disturbed by the training methods Swiftstar used on his own apprentice, Thunderpaw. Thunderpaw was an irritating cat who often deserved a thump over the ear, but Swiftstar took that to an extreme. He pushed the apprentice harder than any of the other young cats. Gruelling battle sessions and long patrols with little rest left Thunderpaw angry and exhausted.

When a strange cat called Sootsong came to Dreamclan speaking of ideas about a second clan, it didn’t shock Sparkfire that Thunderpaw was all over this stranger.

After a vicious battle between clanmates, Sootsong finally proposed his idea of splitting into two clans. Many cats agreed with this plan and left to join him, including Sparkfire’s mates Frogripple and Ducklingtuft. He wanted to join them or beg them to stay with him, but he knew they weren’t happy here and if he left Swiftstar would unleash hell to get him back. So he watched them go without him.

For three seasons Sparkfire watched Swiftstar unleash a Tirade upon Sootclan. He finally decided enough was enough when Swiftstar and Frost unleashed fire and dogs onto Sootclan camp.

Sparkfire led a rescue patrol of Dreamclan warriors to help their former clanmates out of the fire. Leading them back to Dreamclan camp with no help from Grayeyes. For a quarter season Sparkfire took charge of both clans until Beestar and Thunderstripe returned with the news of Swiftstar’s defeat.
