If you want to learn how to play jazz saxophone then you're going to need to learn how the notes fit with the chords. This is a very obvious concept that is not always easy to reflect in your playing. The idea of playing into a chord tone or an approach note is as old as music itself and although it should happen naturally - it doesn't.

In this video I give you a simple exercise to help you internalize the target note approach to learning how to improvise jazz music and I begin to outline what it means to play a 'jazz' line in music.
