Omega Seamaster 300 SPECTRE Limited Edition Watch Review & thoughts - 233.32.41.21.01.001

After hearing that Omega were releasing this "Spectre" Limited Edition take on the Seamster 300, I knew as soon as I saw the publicity photo's that I wanted this to be my second watch.

I got in contact with Omega in mid August / early September to see if I could request a specific serial number (the year I was born) seeing as there are only 7,007 pieces.
To cut a long story short the watches had already been dispatched across the world to Omega Boutiques and jewellers etc, the team at Omega tried their best but unfortunately by the time they had located where in the world the watch had been sent to, it had already sold.
Nevertheless I was undeterred in wanting to own one of these stunning timepieces and on September 26th, I made a visit down to the Omega Boutique on Regent ST, London and picked up my very own.

James Bond has worn an Omega Seamaster watch since 1995's "Goldeneye," but never before have one of the watches been available for purchase — until now.

Unlike commemorative timepieces released for earlier James Bond flicks, this watch is identical to the one on Daniel Craig's wrist in the film.

Based on the 1950s Seamaster (a definite classic in its own right), the watch stands out with its newly added "lollipop" second hand.

The new Seamaster also has a 12-hour diving ceramic bezel that rotates in both directions, a strong homage to the watch's naval history. It's powered by an Omega Master Co-Axial caliber 8400 movement and encased with Omega's zirconium-based alloy, which it calls "LiquidMetal." On the back of the case is the "Spectre" logo and the watch's individual serial number.

A gray and black striped NATO strap has the 007 gun logo etched into its metal strap holder.

Omega's own write up of the watch is as follows:

This marks the first time that the model worn by 007 is released as a limited edition.

THE SEAMASTER 300 "SPECTRE" LIMITED EDITION

Submerged in tradition, the OMEGA Seamaster 300 has a deep history in underwater adventure. With the release of the 24th James Bond film SPECTRE, 007 returns with this iconic timepiece, updated with a new edge of innovation and attitude.

This unique Seamaster 300, the actual model worn by James Bond in SPECTRE, comes in a robust stainless steel case with a sleek, black and grey striped NATO strap. Inside, the watch is powered by the OMEGA Master Co-Axial calibre 8400, a revolutionary movement that is resistant to magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss.

Engravings include the '007' gun logo on the strap holder, and the 'SPECTRE' film title on the caseback.

To complete the timepiece, the bi-directional rotating bezel is also black, this time made from polished ceramic. Combined with a LiquidMetal® 12 hour scale, time can be kept with any country in the world.

Thanks for watching, Mark.
