It is Aragusuku-jima in Taketomi Town, Okinawa Prefecture. This island, also known as Panari Island, has 9 resident cards holders (June 2021), and it is said that about 5 or 6 people live at all times.
Once people in this island captured the dugongs and presented them to the dynasty.
So there is a shrine dedicated to dugongs.
The people of the island value the culture and traditions,it is prohibited not only taking photos and videos but entering to all of the all sacred places on the island.
