Chandni Chowk, a multi-purpose market in Old Shahjahanabad Delhi, was constructed in 17th century. After the death of Mughal emperor Jahangir in 1627, his son Prince Khurram, also known as Shahjahan, came to power. Shahjahan shifted Mughal capital to Delhi from Agra. In Delhi, on the western bank of river Yamuna, his capital city 'Shahjahanabad' was constructed. Shahjahan moved here in 1648. Chandni Chowk, just in front of the historic Red Fort, is one of the oldest and busiest markets in India.

During our ground coverage of Delhi Vidhan Sabha Chunav 2020, Team Lallantop reached Chandni Chowk Assembly seat. Here, in a narrow bylane in Khajoor Masjid Gali, we came across a group of locals. We talked to them about the issues of Delhi Assembly Elections 2020.

There is a three-dimensional contest for Chandni Chowk Assembly seat. Three main contestants are Alka Lamba from Indian National Congress (INC), Prahlad Singh Sahni from Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Suman Kumar Gupta from BJP.
