About Buford:
In the early 1900s, Buford became known for its leather production and earning nickname "The Leather City". The city's leather industry lead by the Bona Allen, Inc. as well as its location as a railroad stop calls the Buford population to expand during the early 1900s until after the Depression. Bona Allen saddles were in serious Robuck catalogue and many cowboy actors use them, including Gene Autry, the cast of Bonanza and Roy Rogers used in his horse "Trigger". Buford had a famous baseball team called Bona Allen Shoemakers. The semi-pro Shoemakers were formed in 1933 and won the Semi-Pro World Series in 1938.
