In this video, we are working in the high tunnel and getting it ready for fall and winter crops. Using grass clippings around our garden plants helps to retain soil moisture, nurture the soil, and prevents weed growth. The grass clippings have been a longstanding tradition used by gardeners in our family, producing great results. The grass is gathered using a lawn sweeper (Agri-Fab 44 inch Lawn Sweeper) we pull behind our garden tractor after mowing the yard. Be sure not to use grass with seed in it or you will be causing yourself more work!
We also show two different seeders/planters we use on the homestead...the Earthway Planter and the Jang Seeder. The EarthWay planter has been used for the past 20 years and the Jang seeder is new to us this year. The last of the summer garden harvest was also collected! We hope you enjoy watching this video and subscribe to follow our homesteading journey. Blessings to everyone!

Disclaimer: We apologize for the noise of the high tunnel whipping in the wind...it was a breezy morning.
