Kyo-Yuzen is the oldest of the three major Yuzen styles in Japan, and is said to have originated in Kyoto during the Genroku period (1688 to 1704 during the Edo period).

Kyo-Yuzen requires at least 12 to 15 steps, and because it requires complex and advanced techniques, specialized craftsmen are in charge of each step.

We will introduce the first step of the dyeing process at Fuji Dyeing.

At Kyo-Yuzen KIKI, we make custom-made kimonos, clothes, dressing room curtains, etc. for each customer.

Please feel free to contact us about colors, patterns, costs, etc.
