Singarimelam or Shingari Melam is a comparatively new traditional percussion ensemble of Kerala. In its presentation it is different from Panjha Vadhyam or Panjarimelam. Shingarimelam features high levels of rhythm with electric movements. A crowd puller, Shingari Melam is now an essential element of Kerala temple festivals.
