Gordon等人在108年(2019)發起成立國際寧靜公園(QPI, Quiet Parks International)，以關注保護世界各地國家公園、都會公園以及人類社區中的「自然寧靜」(Nature Quiet)為使命的非營利組織。
於109年6月5日，亦即世界環境日 (World Environment Day)，陽明山國家公園受國際寧靜公園認證，正式成為世界首座「都會寧靜公園」。當日上午9時30分假遊客中心第1視聽室舉行授證儀式暨記者會，並至夢幻湖實地體驗陽明山的自然寧靜之感。授證儀式宣示著臺灣的國家公園正式走入「聲景保育」的時代，為保護「自然寧靜」而努力。
當下全世界正面臨著疫情的嚴峻考驗，我們更需要調整自己的心態與步調，共同學習安靜聆聽我們的大自然。陽管處邀請大家一同關注我們生活的環境，這不僅是國家公園的責任，也是全人類共同的使命。

Gordon Hempton established the Quiet Park International (QPI) in 2019, which is a non-profit organization adhering to the mission of quiet nature in national parks, metropolitan parks, and human communities around the world.
On 2020/6/5, which is the World Environment Day, Yangminshan National Park became the world’s first Urban Quiet Park. A charter ceremony was held in Visitor Center, and then the guests went to experience the silent trail beside Menghuan Pond. QPI announced that a new era of soundscape the protection is beginning, expecting more and more national parks will follow Yangminshan National Park’s footstep to become guardians of the natural silence.
The world is facing the epidemic crisis now. We need to pay attention to our physical and mental health, learn to listen to Mother Nature. Yangmingshan National Park invites everyone to care about the planet we live. This is not only the responsibility of national parks but also a common mission of all mankind.
