I usually never do full covers, but I thought since I bought the DSO-1 organ, and a Tanpura I'd make an exception ! Much of the gear is the same year as the Beatle's instruments: 1962 J-160e, 1964 Ludwig Super classic in Oyster Black Pearl, 1965 Lowrey DSO-1Organ (The same model used by The Beatles), 1964 Epiphone Casino (George's was a 65 but this is George spec , even the correct Selmer Bigsby) Vox UL730, a Leslie 122 cabinet.I ran the Casino through the OSO 715 amp , which is basically the same circuit as a UL730 but at 15 watts. It is a fantastic amp built by Stephen Walsh, a really talented musician and amp builder in England. It was perfect for the clean part and for running through the Leslie. Also am using a Tanpura for the drone. I can't say I really know what I'm doing, but I did watch a lot of videos on tuning and playing the instrument. No maracas were used or hurt in this version. I consulted three authoritative books: Recording The Beatles, With A Little Help From My Friends(G. Martin) and The Beatles Recording Reference Manual number 3. According to their tracking information no maracas were recorded. I used the casino because the pictures of the rehearsal for LITSWD shows George with his Casino.
