Florian Aigner talks about the Sunk Cost Fallacy and describes our tendency to follow through on an endeavour if we have already invested in it (be it time, effort, or money), whether the current costs outweigh the benefits. Here is how to make better decisions looking at the current situation and not looking at the past. Florian Aigner obtained a doctorate in theoretical quantum physics at TU Wien (Vienna) before switching to science journalism. He is a newspaper and radio columnist and author of popular science books. He focuses on natural science and technology, but also on the philosophy of science and the relationship between science and pseudoscience or fake news. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
