Introducing our Rabha Ancient Traditional Dress
The headscarf is called Khodabang and generally has white stripes on black. It is similar for all the sub-tribes or clans. The upper garment which goes over the chest is called Kambung and the white lower garment is the Jati Ryphan, and the other Ryphan Dukree. It is worn slightly above the ankle. Hancha is the choker and Siki Chuti is the coin necklace. The Siki Chuti is a personal favourite because it’s so gorgeous and unique to me. The three layered necklace is called Chandra Chuti. The arm cuffs are called Kantabaju. The bangles are called Tora (thickest), San phophola (medium) and Motisankha (thinnest). The Rubak is a bead belt worn on the waist and Bak is worn on the ankle.
