In a developing rift within the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), spokesperson Lenin Mohanty has criticized senior party leader Amar Satpathy, suggesting he should leave if he feels suffocated within the party. Mohanty pointed out that Satpathy has already sent his nephew to the BJP, implying he may follow suit. He stressed that Satpathy's exit would not impact the party financially, given the significant status the BJD has already conferred upon him. Mohanty also noted that Satpathy is now speaking against the party, highlighting that the fate of those who have joined the BJP is well known.

In response, Amar Satpathy has announced, "I am not in the BJD anymore; my membership has ended." He described himself as somewhat independent and indicated that he would make future decisions after consulting with his well-wishers. Satpathy revealed that he has stepped back from BJD activities recently and is distancing himself from active politics.

He emphasized that he does not require validation from others, stating, "Those who know the history can tell whether the BJD helped me or if I built my own identity." Satpathy questioned the opinions of newer members, remarking, "What can this new person say?" He clarified that none of his nephews have pursued a political career and disclosed that he has received offers from several parties, including candidacy proposals from another party. For now, he confirmed, "I have not renewed my membership; it is over."
