In this exclusive interview, in collaboration with Kinótico, we speak with legendary English director and screenwriter Mike Leigh and actress Marianne Jean-Baptiste, the duo behind "Hard Truths" (original title: "Mi única familia"). Leigh, the winner of the Palme d'Or at Cannes and the Golden Lion at Venice, teams up once again with Jean-Baptiste, whom he previously directed to an Oscar nomination in "Secrets & Lies". The film had its world premiere at Toronto International Film Festival to critical acclaim before arriving in San Sebastián, where Leigh competes for the first time for the Golden Shell. "Hard Truths" is set to release in Spain on January 10, 2025.

HARD TRUTHS
"Hard Truths" follows Pansy, a woman whose life is a constant struggle. Battling both physical and mental pain, she interacts with the world through anger and confrontation. She argues with her family, her dentist, her doctor, and even the supermarket cashier. Her husband Curtley no longer knows how to handle her, while her son Moses isolates himself in his own world, wandering aimlessly through the city. Only her compassionate sister Chantelle seems to understand and support her.
