Rec Room has cancelled program after program designed to help up and coming creators - everything from Invention Tower to featured Inventions. They've scaled back advertising for featured creators and featured rooms of the week, and now revamped Room Rewards so that only the top 1% of rooms can seemingly qualify. It's an issue that eventually affects all Rec Room players. The creator economy is likely still growing, but at a cost to seasoned creators who have been in the game for several years. They are feeling the pinch as low effort, heavily monetized maps dominate the scene. Rec Room no longer seems to validate these veteran creators or help them succeed. Many are complaining it's just a cash grab from both ends now. What are your thoughts and experiences? Let me know in the comments.
