This story follows the journey of Mikayla, a stubborn and arrogant teenage girl who accompanies her father to Nigeria under the pretense of a short visit to her uncle, but her whole world turns upside down when her father leaves her behind with a letter explaining that she will be staying indefinitely in Nigeria to work on her behavior. She protests against the situation but much to no avail.
 
Feeling angry, betrayed and confused, Mikayla struggles to accept her new reality. She finds it hard to fit into the city of Lagos and clashes with everyone she comes across. Her uncle decides to enroll her in a computer school where she can occupy her time learning something productive.
 
Mikayla meets Juliet, a witty nice girl, and Sam, a playful boy in her programming class but they never get along.
