Faith over fear! Who will you listen to? Choose to obey God, not man.

A. Hearing From God: The Spirit says…
1. A consistent message: The Spirit of God had not altered His message to Paul…
—Jesus speaking to Ananias regarding Paul, “For I will show him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.” Acts 9:16
—And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there: Save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me.” Acts 20:22-23
2. Tyre—Caesarea—Agabus: vv. 4; 11 It’s important to note that in vs. 4 it is the ‘disciples’ ‘who said’ — what they had
interpreted the Holy Spirit to mean. The Spirit never told Paul not to go...only that there would be ‘bonds’ and affliction.
What is your lifelong ‘consistent’ message?
—For some, it’s a still small voice that has invaded your
thinking and decision-making for years. You may have not ever acted on it as it really did not seem to fit with what you wanted or with your gifting. You may have even run from the voice.
—It’s important that the voice we hear is the voice of God. The voice of God is best heard in reading His Word and prayer.

B. Following God: Are you ready?
1. Doing the Father’s will: Over and over, Jesus said He came to do the will of the Father. He was following the voice of the
Father. John 8:38; 10:25; 20:21; Luke 2:49
2. Following Jesus: vs 13 “I am ready” — Paul spent His life following the Words and direction of Jesus through the Holy Spirit. See his comments in Acts 20:24
3. Paul’s last words: 2 Tim 4:7-8 Writing from Rome not long before his death, Paul said…  “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day.”
