When should we get a CT on a patient with a lower GI bleed? Almost never. The 2023 ACG Guidelines state that routine imaging is not recommended for patients with minor LGIB or when bleeding has subsided. For severe bleeds that may need IR for ablation, CT angiography is the preferred imaging modality. Take a listen to November 2023 ERcast for a full review!
