Nitrogen Services for the Oil and Gas Industry
BOC has invested in heavily providing innovative and reliable products and services for the oil and gas industry.
Nitrogen is an odourless inert gas which does not burn and is heavier than air when cold.
The properties of nitrogen mean that it is well suited to a range of applications in the oil and gas industry. These include:
- bubble or trace gas leak testing
- drying where by ultra dry cryogenic nitrogen is heated to 40OC to rapidly dry plants where speed and cleanliness is critical
- plant insertion for purging and maintenance activities
Other refinery applications include:
- accelerated cool down whereby nitrogen is used as a cooling agent for catalysts
- hot gas regeneration during which high temperature nitrogen is used to regenerate catalysts
For integrity leak testing applications we have a high pressure pump skid which delivers up to 3,000 m3/hour at 150 Bar.
A low temperature high flow skid is used for accelerated cool down to achieve temperatures down to -100OC. This helps in speeding up the shut down time, economically maintaining cold inert temperatures.
This footage shows a BOC engineer introducing cryogenic liquid nitrogen into the gas stream to provide a sub held nitrogen stream of 4,000 m3/hour.
Our mobile degeneration units deliver up to a pressure of 16 Bar and are easily relocated for fast set up.
With 8 liquid nitrogen production sites in the south pacific and over 100 road tankers and ISO containers transporting thousands of tonnes of product around the region, you can count on BOC for reliability of supply.
Our team of expert engineers work with our customers to develop unique solutions according to their varying circumstances and requirements.
