Hello! I’m back in the mountains! This route has been on my ‘to do’ list for a little while so thought I’d give it a go after a break in the weather and explore the Moelwyns. The route I planned was a long one (for me) at 36km (Strava link below) and started via the village of Croesor, climbing up the blunt slope of Moelwyn Bach, dropping down a rough saddle between the two before climbing and scrambling back up to the peak of Moelwyn Mawr. From here I dropped down to the old slate quarry and enjoyed a fast paced descent along the trail to the bottom of the valley between the Moelwyns and Cnicht. I then made my way back up the valley, this time on the slope of Cnicht and after a long climb reached the summit. This was my longest run so far and I was pleased with the distance and elevation gained on a fantastic route.
