Authors Lihi Ben Shitrit and Dahlia Scheindlin joined De Gruyter editor Julia Brauch for a thought-provoking discussion on Israel and Palestine, as well as Lihi's recent book "The Gates of Gaza," a collection of critical voices from Israel on the Oct. 7 attacks and subsequent war in Gaza.

Lihi Ben Shitrit is the Henry and Marilyn Taub Associate Professor of Israel Studies and Director of the Taub Center for Israel Studies at New York University.

Dahlia Scheindlin is a Tel Aviv-based political analyst, a regular commentator for the Guardian and Haaretz, and the author of De Gruyter's "The Crooked Timber of Democracy in Israel: Promise Unfulfilled." Foreign Affairs called the book "candid, forthright, and often courageous."
