The Moselle cycle path is one of the most beautiful cycle paths in all of Germany. And the Moselle valley with its vineyards and many majestic castles is also a popular travel destination. In October 2023 we finally wanted to explore this area as part of a cycling trip, at a time when autumn paints the landscape in soft orange tones and the ripe grapes shine.
But before we head to the Moselle, we set off on our bikes from Mainz into the legendary Rhine Valley, pay a visit to the Loreley and turn south at the Deutsches Eck in Koblenz, where the Moselle flows into the Rhine. We cycle through Cochem and Trier and soon find ourselves in France. Via Metz we go to Nancy, a city with the most beautiful places in the world.
We drive along idyllic canals into the Vosges mountains, where the source of the Moselle lies.
