You should always have a Plan A, B, C & D when it comes to land investing! (Oh and just life in general as well). In today's episode we will be heading back to our latest Southern Illinois land investment project property, aka Project 291. We have been working on this investment project property for over a year now and most of it has been sold. But we had to revert to Plan B for this last propery parcel, which is 152 acres of beautiful Southern Illinois hunting land (or building land, farm land or whatever there are plenty of options). We originally cleared 6 micro food plots on this parcel, but after a couple of showings the potential buyers said they really liked the land but wished the food plots could have been bigger. Nuff said!! So today we'll start on Plan B and bring in a big bulldozer to clear some much larger future food plots while trying to keep the excavation bill fairly reasonable. So we opted for the largest bulldozer available, which will clear the new fields fast, but the tradeoff is that it will leave a lot of smaller trees and debris that slip underneath the 12 foot blade. But I have the machines for that, so I will come in and do the cleanup and save a bunch of money on the excavation bill. So for Day 1 we got the big 200 hp bulldozer delivered, offloaded without ruining the brand new chip and tar road and tracked out nearly 1.5 miles to the new food plot sites. We also got started and got about half of the first clearing done. We got some great drone videos and up close ground videos of the clearing process.
