The processions for the immersions of Ganpati idols on Anant Chaturdashi that began at around 10.30 am on Tuesday in Pune continued on Wednesday morning, with the police indicating they were expected to be carried on until the afternoon.

Celebrations of Anant Chaturdashi, the final day of the Ganesh festival, began in Pune and its surrounding areas on Tuesday morning to bid farewell to the cherished deity. The chants of Ganpati Bappa Morya, Pudhchya Varshi Lavkar Ya urging the revered deity to come soon next year rang out along with those of Ganpati Gele Gavala, Chain Padena Amhala.

By midnight, the immersions had been concluded for the five Manache Ganpati — Shri Kasba Ganpati Mandal, Tambdi Jogeshwari Mandal, Guruji Talim Mandal, Tulshibaug Mandal, and Kesri Wada Mandal — as well as for the Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganesh Mandal.
