This video lecture is a part of the course 'An Introduction to English Linguistics' at the University of Neuchâtel. This is session 17, which addresses the Great Vowel Shift, a sound change that took place between Middle English and Early Modern English. In addition, I talk about a few other phonological, morphological, and syntactic changes in Modern English.
