With a large model railroad club layout of this size, long trains are common and having enough power to pull them does matter, especially when you have steep grades to conquer. Trying to get a long heavy train up and onto the Ridge Line is a challenge. Come along as 3 SD70macs on the front of a covered hopper unit train fight to make it up the steep grade and onto our mountain railroad branch known as the "Ridge Line". After returning to the doubletrack mainline, we swap power to 3 scaletrains ES44 gevos with KCS leading, CSX Veteran Unit 1776 behind that and a regular CSX ES44 trailing. We also have a special visitor climbing the mountains.
