In this video I will show you how to install and configure the Mariadb database as a separate Proxmox container for use with Home Assistant. This method allows you to exclude a fairly large part from the standard Home Assistant backup without resorting to manual configuration; in addition, if Home Assistant fails and is restored, the data in the external database will be more current than it would be in the backup.
