The 1st modification in the deadbolt build series is waterproofing. The electronics are basically just splash resistant. So if you want to drive through water, mud, or even just damp outside surfaces, protecting the electronics seems like a no brainer. All I mess with is the esc/receiver combo and the steering servo in this video. Nothing is sponsored for this build, all parts are just things I'm interested in trying out.
