Back in the 16th Century in India composers composed in 'Rap'. They told stories. This tillana is the story of 5 year old Krishna dancing on the 5 headed snake Kaaliya. Kaaliya is the multi-hooded serpent symbolizing the "ego" which pours forth its desire, anger, greed, jealousy, envy and innumerable emotions into the mind-lake to poison and pollute it. Krishna represents the wise one who conquers these undesirable emotions.
