Bowery originally opened with 4 tracks and 2 island platforms separated by a wall in 1913. The southern platform at Bowery closed in 2004, during the renovation of the Nassau Street Line. This rerouted Jamaica bound trains to the former Broad street bound platform, which is the current platform in use today. Canal street station was also affected, and its former Jamaica bound platform closed too ( i might do a video on the abandoned Canal street platform soon )
