I have a 3-hour-long Q&A stream, that has over 43 individual questions that I want to turn into TikToks, but I have no time to edit them which means I can’t get more eyes on my content… if only there was a tool where I could drag my clip in, have it auto-transcribed, automatically cut my pauses, umms, ahhs, reframe it, automatically add subtitles, and even translate my voice, and subtitles to another language… wait.. It exists, and it’s called Podcast Editor.

What Is Podcast Editor?

Podcast Editor is what’s called a “text-based editor”, these are becoming more and more common in recent years because they are so fast, simple, and most importantly accessible to new Creators, it takes a long time to learn to edit after all, but what Podcast Editor does, is transcribes your entire clip, then you highlight segments, click delete… and just makes the edit to the video for you.

What Bitrate to use to Record Gameplay In Streamlabs

In the Encoder settings, you have Rate control, this will be CBR by default, which means you’re recording at the same bitrate all the time, and below that you set the bitrate of your choice, I found for 1080p 60fps that 16,000 - 18,000 gave me excellent quality for editing my gameplay footage later, but any higher was useless, but 8000 bitrate still gave me useable clean footage so if your PC is struggling, start there.

If you want to get a little more complicated in recordings, instead select CQP, which in short is smarter and will change the bitrate as needed so you’re not wasting data, this does mean rather than setting a bitrate you’re setting a CQ level, in short, low numbers here mean higher quality footage, high numbers mean lower quality, I found recording at 15 gave me footage that was perfect, and indistinguishable to viewers, but 20 will also give you totally useable footage, if your PC can’t handle 15, start at 20, and slowly lower it.

This video was paid for by Streamlabs and Logitech, however, they didn't see the script or video until it was finished, and scheduled for release, and had no say over my thoughts or feedback on the tool.
