In this lesson, you will learn about the properties of matter as it relates to chemistry. We will focus on chemical changes and physical changes. A chemical change is when the chemical nature of the material change such as in a chemical reaction. An example would be iron rusting. A physical property is the color, order, or melting point of a substance. A physical change would then be changing phase from liquid to solid or liquid to gas phase. The chemical nature doesn't change - just the state of matter. Intensive properties and extensive properties are also discussed which we use to describe the nature of matter as it relates to chemical reactions.
