This is a short video, showing the conclusion of a trial of a peripheral nerve stimulator for post stroke, shoulder pain. Shoulder pain after a stroke or cerebral vascular incident is very common. It can be incredibly debilitating. This patient raided his pain in his shoulder 10 out of 10. Because of the stroke, the muscles surrounding the shoulder become weak. And as a result of the weakness, the shoulder subluxation, or gradually dislocates, causing an excruciating pain syndrome, called shoulder hand syndrome. The solution is twofold. One nerve is blocked to stop the ascension of pain up to the brain the other nerve that controls the muscles of the shoulder stimulator to reposition the humerus back into the shoulder joint. It is become highly efficacious. Perhaps one of the most rewarding procedures I do. There are solutions for pain. But you can’t find solutions on the couch!
