►The engine in the R53 MINI is one of the most robust engines that MINI has put in a car since BMW ownership in the early 2000s. The W11 engine found in the 2001-2007 MINI Cooper S is special because it's a supercharged 4-cylinder produced by Chrysler during BMW's brief partnership of that same time.

The W11 in this specific R53 was completely gone through increasing power output from 160HP to 280HP, being used specifically in a time attack build. During its last go on track at Gridlife Circuit Legends at Lime Rock Park, the car went into limp mode going into the downhill. Initial diagnosis showed "Cylinder 3 Misfire" and "Cylinder 3 Lean," with further diagnoses showing over 50% leakage in a leak-down test. After sending out the injectors, the injector on cylinder 3 was notably clogged.

Join us as we tear this engine apart to figure out exactly what went wrong and if this engine can be saved!
