The points below may answer some of your questions:
- The bag was in much better condition when I first bought it
- The condition you saw in the before footage is the result of me not babying the bag for a few years after purchase
- Having said that, it was still too expensive to pay US$5,000 for this bag -- so it was not a wise purchase. I would say US$4500 would be more reasonable
- I decided to send the bag to Hermes for their cleaning service after using the bag for about five years because the bag was in very bad condition and I didn't want to sell a bag in this condition to anyone
- Some people may think that with the amount of money (US$8,360) I spent on this bag, I could've bought a new Birkin from the store. A brand new Birkin 30 costs at least US$10,900 (2020 price). Also, when I paid US$5000 for the bag, I didn't know I would eventually send it to Hermes spa -- if I had known, I would definitely have looked into buying brand new. However, I don't think I would be able to buy a brand new Birkin 30 at retail price.
