PASSING OUT PARADE OF THE FIRST ANNUAL NATIONAL CAMP OF NCC - JUNIOR CADET CAMP FOR JOHN B CULL TROPHY-2024.
The Passing Out Parade of first annual national camp of NCC, John B Cull Trophy 2024 for Junior Cadets was held at the NCC Training Centre Rantambe, on 17 September 2024, at 0830 hrs with the participation of 1500 Junior Cadets representing all Provinces in Sri Lanka.

Brig GS Fonseka USP psc Director NCC graced as the Chief Guest of the Passing Out Parade. A number of Officers, Directors of Education, Principals, Teachers, parents and well wishers attended this annual ceremonial occasion. Out of 993 junior boy cadet platoons, 41 Platoons and out of 493 junior girl cadet platoons, 21 Platoons had the fortune of taking part in the Annual National Junior Cadet Camp for John B Cull Trophy- 2024

Addressing the parade, the Chief Guest, Brig GS Fonseka USP psc Director NCC congratulated the winners and encouraged the other Platoons for future victories.

He elaborated the importance of qualities like being disciplined, obedience, unity, taking leadership and responsibility, which a junior cadet naturally possesses due to Cadet Training. He advised the cadet not to follow short cuts in their path to success. He was happy with the 42000 Cadets this year who could take part in assessment camps at the NCC Training Centre Rantambe, in comparison to 19000 Cadets last year. He hopes to increase the number of cadets attending to 60000, making use of the NCC Training Centre Mullaitivu which was ceremonially declared open last January.

Further he gladly mentioned about six courses to be introduced for cadets in the future. The new syllabus which was revised recently will be implemented in the coming training year. Making the NCC Sri Lanka International, the foreign Cadets will visit us during the Hermann Loos and De Soysa Camps in November this year. In fact, on the invitation of NCC Maldives, India and Nepal Sri Lankan Cadets visited those countries this year.
Finally the Chief Guest thanked the Hon President, State Minister of Defence, Secretary Defence and all Officers and staff members of the Ministry of Defence and the Minister of Finance, Secretary Finance and the Officers and the Staff of the Ministry of Finance, Minister of Education, Secretary Education, Directors of Education, Principals, Teachers and parents of the Cadets. He reserved his thanks to all Officers, Permanent Staff Instructors, members of civilian staff and cadets for presenting such a colourful parade displaying the pride of the NCC.
