The Sag, as I like to call it has earned it's nickname from the fact that it's greatest tonal charactistic is to somewhat replicate the sag of a tube-rectified tube amp, all in a tiny, cheap pedal that I stumbled upon in 2014.

I doubt you'll find one of these anymore, but if you do then you'll be one of the lucky ones. It started out as a kit I believe from an electronics seller in China called DASETN. Try finding that now. I can't!

If you do then please let me know. I want a backup to this pedal!

It does a great job of making a solid state amp or even a digital modeller sound more tube-like, not so much due to it's tone, but more due to the way it responds to the dynamics and levels you feed it.

It's helped me get some Crazy Horse and fuzz type tones from my rig when combined with certain boost and overdrive pedals. The fuzz-like results it gives me come with the benefit of more clarity and cut through the mix on stage more than a fuzz pedal seems to, but back it off and it gets out of the way and doesn't colour the tone much at all, except for making it sound just a little nicer all-round.

It's supposed to be an EP Booster clone, but I'd describe it more as a dynamics processor, transient shaper and when pushed hard enough becomes pretty much a limiter.

Long live the Sag!
