Let's take a closer look at the T55 deserted tank. The T55 is a Soviet main battle tank introduced into service in the years after World War II. The first T-54 prototype was completed in Nizhny Tagil at the end of 1945. T-54 and T-55 tanks participated in many world armed conflicts in the second half of the 20th century. The T-55 series eventually became the most produced tank in history. Estimated numbers range from 86,000 to 100,000. In the Soviet and Russian armies, the T-62, T-64, T-72, T-80 and T-90 types have been replaced, but remain in service with up to 50 other armies after around the world and some received sophisticated retrofitting.

The T54 and T55 tanks took part in many conflicts, mainly during the Cold War, e.g. in Hungary (1956), Czechoslovakia (1968), in wars in the Middle East, in Vietnam, Afghanistan, Yugoslavia, etc. They are still in service in many countries, mostly in countries of the so-called third world. Thousands of such tanks are still preserved in excellent condition and ready for re-commissioning.
