In memory of a PNG Army veteran, local politician, a gifted orator and a Manus Stringband Music legend, Peter Nanu Kuwoh (PNK).

According to fellow veteran Micheal Kuweh, PNK served as an Army Officer, attaining the rank of Captain. He was one of the only six Manusians to have entered Australia's Army Officer Cadet School, Portsea, Victoria between 1969 and 1974, before 1975 when PNG gained Independence. PNK also worked as Communication Officer in the PNGDF Signals Squadron. PNK then left PNGDF to serve his own community and later became the President of Ere Kele for nearly three terms. At his passing, he was the Executive Officer in the office of the Manus Administrator. Out of his many achievements, his creativeness in shaping and influencing the Manus Stringband music "stood above the rest".

Rest in eternal peace, PNK
