Merry Christmas everyone! I've been wanting to do a detailed review video for you of my experiences in the PEBL so far, so I put some stuff together yesterday with my son Trevor who helped video. Overall I really like the PEBL and am glad I purchased it. It hasn't been without issues and as a brand new vehicle purchased from the manufacturer, I guess I would expect it to be more "refined" but I was an extremely early adopter, so I knew I might face some issues. On the bright side, I'm learning a lot about things I never knew before.

I tried installing a wireless computer on the PEBL but wasn't able to get the thing to work at all. Not sure if it was an angle issue with the sensor and spoke magnet, or if the distance was too long or some other issue. I'm considering adding a wired one or possibly getting the fancy one that the ELF owners use which is plugged right into the electronics so its much more accurate and powered by the PEBL itself instead of batteries. I'll let you know as that proceeds.

The 8-speed Sturmey Archer hub has been pretty good, but I typically have 1-3 gears that don't really work since adjusting it perfectly over the long cable run is challenging. Eventually I'll probably swap it out for a 5-speed hub or hopefully one of the new Bosch hubs or something more refined as more of this type of vehicle gets on the road around the world.
