Hindu Public School, Sanath Nagar – Vana Mahotsav Celebrations
Vanamahotsav is an annual tree – planting festival in India. It was started in 1950 by the Ministry of Agriculture Government of India to create awareness about the importance of trees and the need for afforestation.
“Van” means forest and “Mahotsav” means festival, so Van-Mahotsav can be translated as the “festival of Forests”.
We are delighted to share with you that our school recently organised a Vanmahotsav program, a celebration of the festival of forest. During this program, we aimed to create awareness about the importance of trees and the need for environmental conservation among students and society.
We also conducted awareness among the students where the students have participated in poster making, drawing competition, singing, dancing. These activities aimed to inspire our school community and the larger society to take action and protect our natural resources.
