Amazon's holiday advertisement for 2023, titled "Joy Ride," celebrates the enduring joy of friendship and the timeless thrill of fun, regardless of age. The centerpiece of this campaign is a 60-second commercial showcasing three elderly friends on a park bench, nostalgically observing children sledding. Inspired, one of them uses Amazon to order seat cushions for sleds. Upon arrival, they rekindle their youthful spirit by joyfully sledding down the hill, accompanied by an instrumental version of The Beatles' "In My Life." This evokes memories of their younger selves engaging in the same activity.

Crafted by Amazon’s internal creative team in collaboration with Hungry Man, the production company, the advertisement debuts in the U.K. and Europe, and will later be released in the U.S. and Canada. It's part of Amazon's larger preparation for the holiday season, where they plan to employ 250,000 additional workers, anticipating a robust shopping period. Amazon projects a significant increase in Q4 sales, estimating revenues between $160 and $167 billion, a noticeable rise from the previous year’s $149.2 billion.
